April 12th
12:30 p.m.
Thanks to March Hostesses/House Flowers designers: Mary Anne Kamas, Marilyn Galley, Bernadette Raimondi, & Kay Mitchell. Quarterly flowers provided by April Zentmeyer, Connie Lenhart, Dusty Graham, & Sukey Rankin. April House Flowers will be designed by Elen Strock, Kris Turner, Terry Harbert, & Sandy Klimek. Thanks to Susan Stull and Carol Barnhart for an informative program and a start on our seedlings. April is National Gardening Month. Annette Cormany will join us to teach us about good bugs and bad bugs. She is one of our favorite presenters, a Master Gardener Coordinator, horticultural educator, and Principal Agent Associate for UMD-Washington County. Join us on April 12, refreshments at 12:30, presentation at 1 p.m. It’s time for Art in Bloom, April 24 (reception) through April 26 at the Museum. Stop by to see artworks transposed into creative arrangements.
The District V annual meeting was held on March 6. We placed for being good stewards of the Earth recycling plastic project; our yearbook; our 95 years as a Garden Club; and awarded a grant to help with the mulching for the House and Garden Tour. If you’re interested in helping prepare arrangements for the homes on the Tour, please contact Sukey Rankin. Next up? May Baskets for Hilltop residents – May 12 meeting.
